About Me.
Hello, my name is Regina (it means "queen" in Latin - no pressure or negativity).
I have lived in a suburb of Milwaukee, Wisconsin for the past five years and some months. Though new to this area, I've lived in Wisconsin for 30 years; having moved from Atlanta, Georgia with my family when I was 10 years old.
I am married and the mom of one child, stepmother to three more.
I work in education and really like it - most days. After having been a stay-at-home mom for approximately seven years, it was time for me to go back to work and I'm so grateful to God that I am in the place that I am in and work with the people that I do.
My friends love me, though most times I'm not sure why - I think of myself as overly direct and quirky, sometimes too demanding and serious for most people, but they assure me that the warm fuzzies are real.
In my "spare time" I really enjoy blogging, reading and listening to music. It feels super great to have a clean and organized space to do these things in, so while I don't enjoy cleaning, I appreciate the end result.
I am a daughter of God, of my parents that are still living and married (42 years!), a big sister by eight years, a parent to a teenage boy, a learner, a reader, a hostess, a coffee drinker and wine drinker - never together and really genuinely want to be encouraging to others around me. I really do like making others feel special, seen and loved.
Most important is my love for God, well actually His for me. Without Him, I am nothing and ought never profess to be. He saved me 14 years ago and through that I've experienced some challenging situations, I mean challenging; some of which I can hardly believe happened to me. However, He has proven faithful and brought me through each and every one.
I am writing this blog because I have suffered from being a chameleon for far too long and am ready to let go of that mindset and stay one color
(did I forget to mention that I'm funny?)- the truest shade of me. I am looking for a creative outlet to share my heart. I got some stuff to say y'all and I want to grow and learn and explore the world that I live in. I want to influence, lead and hopefully even inspire others with what I learn and share about being me.
Reach out to me via email, comment after the blog posts and follow my tweets!
I'm so glad to have you along on my journey.
